Natural Wood fibre insulation from Europe

We are using three natural wood fibre products to obtain the most effective protection against our summer heat and winter cold.  (Learn more about Summer heat protection).

We are installing a rigid 60 mm board on the outside of the building envelope frame called Protect H. It is tongue and grooved and will act as a thermal protection; preventing the intense heat of summer penetrating our home.  The boards also protects against air infiltration.  It has significant acoustic insulation properties as well, and is waterproof, so no sarking membrane needed

The second part of our insulation system is using the Flex 36 - it will be used in all of the wall and ceiling cavities in its 100mm thickness.  In the ceiling an extra 60 mm will be laid on top of the 100mm giving superior insulation protection (significant heat gain/loss occurs in the roof cavity). The third type of woodfibre insulation is Underfloor.  It is a  7mm board that goes under the cork/vinyl planks.  This insulates the cement floor, against cold and sound transmission.

So where are we using wood fibre insulation in our build ?

Protect H

Wood fibre insulation board for use in External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS)

We are installing a high density rigid 60 mm insulation and vapour permeable board called Protect H on the outside of the building frame .

It is tongue and grooved and will act as a thermal blanket preventing the intense heat of summer penetrating our home. It also protects against air infiltration.  It has significant acoustic insulation properties as well, and is waterproof.
